Winter 2006 - 7 Flims skiing

Jacky wanted to be on hand for birth of 'Milly' so G nipped off with Jo for a bit of skiing in Flims near 'posh' Klosters in Switzerland. G and Jo are shown, below left, "incognito" in keeping warm rig. Below right - this is what Jo looks like in better weather!

Most ski resorts look like most other ski resorts so what's different about Flims. Well its in the German part of Switzerland so its well organised - even the mountains are all the same shape!! (see illustration right). And this suicide approach to the main ski lift has a 2,000 ft drop to the left of the path.

A contrast below - first a great shot taken by Jo of sun on the slopes with all skiers neatly posing in the same direction. Secondly five people facing in five different directions featuring the author in yellow looking composed even if that is not difficult on a five degree slope! and the author's brother the only one taking any notice.

(below) WG in yellow is reasonably parallel but 'bend ze knees'!! However not as out of control as the skier in red who looks to be coming in for a hairy landing.
